Tom Streather

Tom StreatherTom Streather, social development specialistTom Streather is a MA qualified social scientist with five years of professional experience. He specialises in social impact assessment, consultation, sustainable project development and governance. As a member of the Group’s environment and social development team, he contributes to the management of social issues for power and other infrastructure projects worldwide.

Tom has amassed a range of project experience contributing to environmental and social impact assessments and social sustainability due-diligence and Equator Principle gap analyses.

Prior to joining Mott MacDonald, Tom developed academic and professional expertise in the UK and internationally in the areas of international aid, poverty reduction, governance, social housing and urban development. He has experience working in the not-for profit, academic, public and private sectors including the World Bank, the European Parliament and the European Network on Debt and Development.

Tom's skills range includes social impact assessment and social sustainability appraisal, participatory appraisal, conducting research using both primary and secondary data, policy development and analysis, strategic project planning, political lobbying and advocacy campaigning, fundraising, presentations and awareness sessions targeted to the public and organisational boards, e-training and the production of e-training materials, events management, and financial administration.
