Kevin Leather

Kevin LeatherEnvironmental management and sustainabilityKevin is a highly experienced environmentalist with over 18 years’ consultancy experience in environmental impact assessment (EIA), management and auditing for the design and construction of transport, energy and infrastructure projects.

He is a registered environmental auditor under the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) scheme and has acted as UK government project representative for the environmental monitoring of the design and construction of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link project.

With practical experience of EIA, coordination of environmental statements and strategic environmental assessment and sustainability appraisal, Kevin is committed to improving the sustainability performance of projects.

For Mott MacDonald, he was responsible for developing the Group’s internal approach to managing sustainability in projects, a process based tool known as QUEST. He has experience in managing sustainability performance in design and construction projects including consultation and obtaining consents and permits for major projects. He also provides support on environmental issues for the development and maintenance of our integrated quality, environment and safety management system. More recently, he has obtained practical experience of the implementation of the SEA Directive and the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act in the UK and has been responsible for a delivering a series of training workshops for local authority officers focusing on sharing best practice in SA/SEA and lessons learned.
