Jeremy Purseglove – environmental expertOver
a 25-year postgraduate career as an environmentalist, ecologist and
landscape architect, Jeremy Purseglove has planned, directed and
provided specialist inputs to environmental studies.
Jeremy has specialised in the integration of engineering schemes
with the environment and has pioneered environmental standards,
particularly in relation to civil engineering schemes affecting
rivers and wetlands, which are now accepted across the UK and
beyond.
Team leader for environmental impact assessments for roads,
reservoirs, bridges, water transfer schemes, river engineering and
sea defence for major projects around the world. He has been
broadcasted extensively and has presented a three-part series on
television based on his definitive book on rivers and wetlands.
Jeremy provides lectures and tutors at Cambridge University on
inter-disciplinary design and also has lectured in many countries.
In addition, he is Visiting Professor of Sustainable Engineering at
the University of Hertfordshire and Chairman of a Think Tank for
The Company of Water Conservators.
